"UNITED MINDS FOR PEACE DAY"

~1ST JANUARY EVERY YEAR~

UNITED PLEDGE

We propose a global, collective meditation (prayer, moments of silence, etc) to initiate a state of higher consciousness. And in doing so with this process, we will silently restore peace, goodwill, good health and prosperity to all who participate with the hopes that this generates a more active and direct approach to rid the world of its current ills.

We aim to generate peace both mental and physical through this global meditation. We aim to search the roots of uproar through meditation and uproot them through the manifestation of the divinity within us. We aim to reject weaknesses of mankind as poison and take up strength as life. We aim to build up the character of each person in a way such that he will be constructive in the theory of Nation Making as a whole. We believe to combine Love, Need and Dedication in work in a unified vision. We embrace Jesus, Krishna, Prophet Mohammad, Buddha, and all other Gods and Goddesses as part of “ONE SUPREME-SOUL”.

We endorse Spiritual Self Realization and Manifestation of inner Divinity to be the source of deliverance in the world of confrontation.

We bear esteem towards all that upholds peace and impertinence towards all that breaks peace.

We believe in only one religion and that is Peace.

We revile the making of new weapons by humans.

We accentuate Music, Literature, Art, Philosophy and Aesthetic Beauty to be the paraphernalia through which all types of Peace can be found.

We celebrate The International Minds For Peace Day with a mind to promote Global Peace and Harmony among all Nations and among all people irrespective of caste, creed, color and religion. We denounce all types of chemical, physical and mental warfare which prevails in the battle field let alone in our daily lives. We condemn those criticisms that discourage people from attaining excellence in their respective fields of expertise and liking. We condemn all those that prevent the abridging of the bay between richness and poverty. We discard any peace-less element that makes us weak and accept all those that enhance our mental strength. We resolve with United Minds to accept Peace as the Symbol and Factor that leads to complete happiness. We consider Peace not just as a human sensitivity to place banners and slogans of Peace and think about Peace but as that building block that can unite us in a Global Village of Harmony. We consider all constructive and peaceful activities under the concept of Peace.

We the members of United Minds For Peace Society constitute of a Holistic Global Family coveted towards the cause of humanity, society and Peace and we soberly resolve to bring the whole World under this Family.

On one side of the mirror of the illusive life

We strive for the Love seek Dove

While the greater half is left to starve-

On the other side.

To be for us is not for what we’ve been sent

To be for others is our ‘descent’.

UNITED MINDS FOR PEACE DAY

The concept of this day came after the concept of Minds For Peace Day was conceived by

Mr. Lawrence S Pertillar, the Joint Founder of this Society.

On 1st January every year we  celebrate the “United Minds For Peace Day” in which we  dedicate ourselves

completely to peace and pay homage to all those lives who have lost their worldly fight due

to some un-peaceful  activities like wars and unrest. At 12 o’ clock  in the afternoon

we stop all our daily activities and devote ourselves to peace.

Written slogans and banners of Peace are released in the website and other

places wherever possible.

International poetry and article writing contests are held .

The yearly UMFPS journal is published and distributed among all members.

We  celebrate the day with many other noble works like distribution of

things of daily requirements to the poor and start literacy campaigns.

All the yearly activities are summarized in this day and the day is

celebrated with a get-together in respective countries and institutions where UMFPS

 has its roots.

One person per year will be given  the title of “International Peace Bearer” for his

 sacrifice and activities towards peace.
