UMFPS United States Executive Committee member  Laurence Overmire wrote and directed a play titled, "A Scrooge Mart Christmas Carol," which was performed in Portland, OR, as a benefit, raising over $3000 for SW Community Health Center, a clinic which provides health care for the uninsured.

UMFPS Kenya Executive Committee Member Walter Keyombe is going to host "The 1st World Peace Poetry Festival" on 19th and 20th September 2009 at Hope Center auditorium in Nairobi , Kenya .


The 1st World Peace Poetry Festival 2009 will be the largest ever non juried poetry festival in Nairobi, and draws poets from every continent on the globe.

UMFPS EL-salvador Executive Committee Memeber HILDA DE PAYES founded the "Friendly Hands"


 

“Friendly Hands”, was founded on December 1989, in San Salvador, with an added  group of friends, on the presence of Brother Professor Felix García, from Spain.  Hilda de Payés, was nominated as President of the Directive.   One of the proposals was to collaborate when somebody needs help and support.  Since then, they had a continues activities, given collaboration to some institutions, as the Center of Nuns  Madre Teresa de Calcuta, San Marcos, El Salvador,-   “Pounds of Love” another group that takes care of babies extremely undefended, need feeding to get healthy.  And also people that look for a kind of help. The Association is supported with the collaboration and rapports that each one of the members can give.  Not too much money but efforts. At this day, the President is Mss. Alicia Tiravochi, and the meetings take place in her home.  They are a small group with about 30 members.

 

Hilda has received recognitions, from the members, like a Diploma, that say:

To HILDA DE PAYES, Founder and Honorific President of “Friendly Hands”, as a

Testimonial of Love and admiration for her disinterested and example labor on favor benefice of the noble principles of our Association.

(This group was created in memories of her loved son, Gabriel Eugenio Payés Interiano, he was killed by the guerrilla in El Salvador, because his wishes of peace and freedom, and no violence. In a short time,1989, were killed six very important professionals, idealists; my son was the last one, and could live 33 days after this attempt. The final offensive was on November 11, 1989, against the recent democratic Government, but they failed. About one year later peace was signed.)

as a human being have rendered help at the time recent
floods in the town of Kancheepuram,Tamil Nadu in India
during the month of November in 2008 and obliged for 
their one day time meal from his pocket expenses.
Two old aged ladies who were affected fever were sent
to nearest hospital  for their further treatment.

c.) Promotion of culture: To reinforce the previous point and provide a range of options.

d)  Promoting Environmental contributing to the conservation of the planet and everything in there.

Emaldy Thought all this work, designed, managed, performed, directed, supervised, controlled and improved by a single man without any kind of financing, only small contributions from those who themselves participated in and benefited.

 




Dr. Bhaskar Roy Barman , a member of  United Minds India Executive Committee will be hosting the International Writers meet at Kolkata in 2010.

Mrs. Maitreyee sarcar HF FRSA, a member of United Kingdom executive committee has been directing an organization called Surdhwani which has played an excellent role in bridging INDO-British relationship through Indian Classical Music.

Mr. Albert Ashoke, a member of  United Minds India Executive Committee has been working hard to establish the International Pen Kolkata to fight for the cause of writers.

Mr. Nikhil Parekh,a member of  United Minds India Executive Committee has been involved as a Goodwill Treaty Ambassador to spread Peace all over the world.

Dr. T Ashok Chakravarthy , a member of  United Minds India Executive Committee has been involved as an ambassador in the Global Harmony association to spread world peace.

Dr Sandra Fowler, A member of US Executive committee has donated significant amount to help a economically challenged poet get proper published recognition.

Dr. Dimitris P Kraniotis , a member of United Minds Greece Executive Committee has founded the World Poets Society with an aim to bring all living poets together.

Paulo Monti, a member of United Minds Brazil Executive Committee has been involved as a messenger of Peace through the UNESCO Program "MANIFEST 2000".

Carlos Daniel Laurans, a member of United Minds Argentina executive committee has been involved in peace projests a Universal Peace Ambassador of Geneva,Switzerland.

Young Musical Members of India Executive Committee have formed the Musical Oasis for REsurrection with cooperation from UMFPS to spread World Peace through Music.

Lucia Giaquinto, a member of Argentina Executive committee has been invloved in IFLAC peace projects.
